Polly Reed has just launched a personal assistant company with a difference.

Trading as Pink Spaghetti Camberley & Bracknell, Polly will be offering her time and experience to local small business owners, consultants, freelancers and home owners.

“Basically, my service is pay as you go,” she said. “With the development of Camberley and Bracknell in recent years there has been an explosion in the number of micro-businesses, many of which operate from people’s homes and are not in a position to employ a full time or even part time assistant.

“That is where I come in. I can take over the essential tasks that nobody started their business to do – from managing social media accounts to admin, decluttering, bookkeeping and creating newsletters. Pink Spaghetti exists to take away the legwork from a business owner, releasing more time for them to spend on the parts of the business that they love.
“I believe I am unique in that I offer small businesses as many hours of support as they need, without any commitment or ties to a regular contract.”

Polly has a degree in psychology and her early career was spent mentoring offenders and working with children with special needs. She then moved on to organising outreach programmes for students with the aim of increasing university participation among underrepresented groups. This gave her a wide range of experience in organisation, administration and marketing, which make her the ideal virtual assistant.

The birth of her son made her re-evaluate her life and career, and she decided to use the skills she’d developed to start her own business to gain control over her working life. Starting her own franchise will give her the chance to use her skills and build her own business with a nationwide network for backup.

Polly anticipates that many of her Pink Spaghetti clients will also be solo entrepreneurs, experts in their own field, who struggle to find the time to keep up with the back office tasks so necessary for running a business. She is really passionate about helping local businesses thrive and making life easier for busy people.

“Running my own business will be a new challenge, but will give me much greater flexibility. As a mum of one, I am looking forward to gaining a better work life balance, and also helping other busy business people achieve this.”
