Frimley Lodge Park play area is getting a £150,000 makeover.
The overwhelming winner from the public consultation and vote held by Surrey Heath Borough Council before Christmas was the fantastic design submitted by Kompan (pictured).
The winning design, aimed at children up to age 14, features a wide variety of features including castle and keep-themed towers, racing zipwires, a sensory path, sandpit and various types of swings.
Inclusive play equipment includes a ground level roundabout and trampoline, sensory eco-rain wheel, play panels, tipi carousel, birds nest swing, home see-saw and DDA accessible stairs to the castle units.
SHBC would like to thank everyone who took part in the consultation, and for their patience in the transition period.
The contractor is due to start working on the refurbishment of the play area on 23 April. It is anticipated the work will take around four to five weeks.
The work is subject to weather and other variables – updates will be posted when possible on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/surreyheath
