To coincide with the Collectively Camberley Light Switch On event, The Square welcomed ‘The most loved bear in the world’ on Saturday 16th November.
Appearing at intervals between 10.30 – 3pm, Paddington Bear entertained hundreds of The Square’s shoppers ahead of the popular Camberley Light Switch On.
Paddington’s arrival marks the start of free entertainment arriving at the centre every weekend leading up to Christmas day.
The Square also launched their selfie competition, seeing shoppers get the chance to win a £100, £75 or £50 gift card to spend at the centre. To enter the competition and be in with the chance of winning, shoppers must upload their selfies to either Facebook or Instagram until 24th December and use the hashtag #christmasincamberley. Eagle eyed shoppers would have also noticed The Square’s talking post-box, inviting children to post their very own letters and Christmas wish-list straight to Father Christmas himself! (See image right)
Visit Father Christmas in his Grotto
It’s not Christmas without a visit to the man himself! For just £4, families can get the chance to meet Father Christmas at The Square on 23rd and 24th November and from 30th November right through to 24th December and receive a gift to take away with them. Shoppers can beat the queues and book online here.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without arts and crafts sessions! Throughout the weekends of November and December, little shoppers are invited to get creative, from Christmas cards, Pottery and much much more!
All craft sessions will take place in Cambridge Square between 23rd November and 22nd December.

The Square’s Christmas Craft events will close for a break between 1pm – 2pm each day and is available for children aged between 4 and 10 years old.
Please note that children must not be left unattended.
Christmas Kid’s Fest
The Festive Wheel of Fortune will be arriving at The Square on Saturday 23rd November, as part of the centre’s Christmas Kid’s Fest. Located in the main square, children are invited to take a spin the wheel for exclusive treats, take part in the Giant Christmas Colouring Board, enjoy face painting plus lots of Christmas entertainment!
It wouldn’t be Christmas without The Secret Stage coming to Camberley! The Secret Stage will be at The Square on Sunday 24th November and families can join along to their favourite Christmas tunes between 11am – 12pm and 1pm – 2pm.
Meet the cast of Camberley Theatre’s Robin Hood
The Square has joined forces with Camberley Theatre and families are invited to meet the cast and characters from the Robin Hood panto. The free event will take place on Saturday 30th November in The Square and children can also join in with games and added entertainment throughout the day.
High Cross Church Christmas event
High Cross Church will be entertaining families throughout the day on Sunday 1st December. Children can enjoy taking part in free crafts and sing alongside High Cross Church’s choir.
As part of the Camberley Be Enchanted Christmas events, Surrey Heath Borough Council is bringing free live music to The Square on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December. The music features local artists and community groups between 12pm-4pm on both days.
Meet Bjorn the Polar Bear
A ‘real live’ animatronic polar bear will be arriving at The Square on Saturday 14th December! This impressive polar bear will be accompanied by an Inuit hander and is set to be the star of an interactive performance which is a cross between a petting zoo and a nature documentary. Sessions will be taking place at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Breakfast with the Elves
The popular Breakfast with Elves will be returning to The Square on 14th December at Muffin Break and 21st December at Frenchies.
Muffin Break – 10am until 1pm

The ‘Lost Elves and Reindeer’ are coming to Camberley on 21st Saturday December for three sessions throughout the day. Alongside posing for pictures next to the Lost Elves and Reindeer, children will also have the opportunity to make their own Reindeer food to sprinkle outside their door on Christmas event. Children can also win some festive treats by taking part in ‘Pin The Nose on Rudolph’!
