Every Christmas, Camberley Theatre is proud to choose a charity to raise money for via collections at the annual pantomime. The 2018 charity was the Chobham based Children With Special Needs Foundation.

The Foundation’s aim is to raise funds to support individuals, groups and schools in their requests for equipment, holidays and tuition and to provide essential care for children with special needs in Surrey, East Berkshire and North Hampshire. This also includes assisting very talented children who are finding it difficult to reach their true potential without support.

Through the generosity of the Camberley Theatre ‘Sleeping Beauty’ customers,
£2, 995.11 was raised with bucket collections after each performance.

Gordon Parris, founder of the charity said:

“The Children With Special Needs Foundation really appreciated and were grateful for the management of the Camberley Theatre for choosing our charity for their bucket collection at each performance of the panto recently. The amount received of £2995.16 was fantastic and will be spent on a project within Surrey Heath. We thank the staff who after every performance collected the money in the buckets.

When we look back 23 years when the charity was founded in Surrey Heath no-one would have realised that we would be able to help so many special children and their families and this money will “put a smile on tomorrow – today”.

Two of our schools enjoyed seeing the panto this year. “

Jo Bartlett, the marketing manager for Camberley Theatre who presented Gordon with the cheque said ‘Raising money for the various charities we have worked with over the years is one of the most satisfying things we are able to achieve through our annual pantomime. The Children With Special Needs Foundation is a wonderful charity.

Thanks so much to all our customers for their generosity.’
