Citizens Advice Surrey Heath (CASH) is moving into Surrey Heath House in Camberley.
After 20 years based in a portacabin behind Camberley Library, from 1 April 2019 CASH is moving the short distance into Surrey Heath House on Knoll Road.
CASH will still retain their independence and confidentiality as a local charity. However, they will be providing the advice people need for the problems they face from a much more welcoming environment for volunteers and clients alike.
Surrey Heath House has become a ‘Public Services Hub’ in recent years – CASH join Surrey Heath Borough Council, Surrey County Council Adult Social Care and Registrars Office, NHS Surrey Heath CCG, Job Centre Plus and Surrey Heath Police at the location.
This ‘one stop shop’ set up makes it easier and more convenient for members of the public to access more than one public service in the same place, and also improves partnership working between the various agencies.
People visiting CASH at the new location will be able to access:
• Advice and Information on a wide range of issues
• Assistance with applying online for Universal Credit and personal budgeting support
• Debt management
• Help with filling in disability forms and appeals
• Home visits for those who are housebound
• Social Prescribing
• Foodbank referrals and food bags
• A weekly legal surgery
Kate Sawdy, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Surrey Heath, said: “We are all very excited about the move to Surrey Heath House and appreciate SHBC’s support in making this happen.
“Our smart new premises seem a fitting way to mark 80 years of the Citizens Advice service and we see the change as a really positive one for both volunteers and clients.”
Karen Whelan, Chief Executive of SHBC, said: “We are delighted to welcome Citizens Advice Surrey Heath into Surrey Heath House, enhancing our position as a Public Services Hub in the area.”
CASH opening hours remain Monday to Thursday, 10am to 4pm. Help is also available via their Adviceline on 03444 111 444, or webchat.
